LAM Wing-tsan

Principal Tuba of Hong Kong Sinfonietta since 1998, Lam Wing-tsan also appeared as guest principal with China Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic and Macao Orchestra. He had also performed as soloist with orchestras and bands in countries including Australia, Korea and China.

Lam graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with a bachelor’s degree (Honour) in Tuba Performance. He was then awarded full scholarships by the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music and Bernard Van Zuiden Music Fund for postgraduate studies under Patrick Harrild at Royal Academy of Music (RAM) in London, where he was awarded DipRAM (Tuba Performance) and LRAM (Brass Teaching).

Lam founded Hong Kong Young Musicians’ Wind Orchestra in 2000. Under his leadership, the ensemble has won prizes at various international competitions in Austria, the Netherlands, Hungary and Eastern Europe. Lam currently teaches euphonium and tuba at CUHK and Hong Kong Baptist University.
